Anxiety Therapy

What is anxiety?

Anxiety is the body’s normal response to a stressful or threatening situation. Normal levels of anxiety can help motivate people and keep them safe. However when anxiety persists for months it can interfere with daily life due to symptoms such as sweating, a rapid heartbeat, chest or stomach pains and difficulty sleeping or concentrating. Some people get nervous or panic under specific circumstances, such as social situations, while others find themselves worrying about everything. What can I do?

Anxiety treatment can help. If your worries and stresses are interfering in your day to day activities, you can seek the help of a Montreal Therapist or a Montreal Psychologist for an assessment and treatment. For further information on about treatment services or to schedule an appointment, please contact Dr. Chow.

How can anxiety treatment help?

Every person experiences anxiety in their own way so anxiety treatment is individualized to address your specific symptoms. The psychologist will ask you about the problems you are experiencing and will help you to determine the cause of your anxiety and the factors involved in maintaining your anxious feelings. The psychologist will then help you develop methods to manage and reduce your stress and anxiety levels.
